The icu room looks like it should be in the Starship Enterprise. Kristine happily ate a lemon ice which is not as good as cannoli but feels good after 8 hours of intubation. Did I mention she still has most of her hair?

Lemon ice sounds pretty good.
8 hours of intubation – yikes. She’ll be pretty hoarse I suspect, but that is a small problem.

That looks like the same equipment baby T. was hooked up to in the NICU. Then we panicked when we got home and didn’t know his blood oxygen content. Tell Kristine we’ll know she is doing better when she is setting off the alarms for moving too much (doing yoga)?

Thanks for the update, Jonathan–so glad to hear the surgery went well. I know you can breathe a bit easier now. All of us here continue to hold the Bliss/Zakarisons in the light.
So glad that Dr. Sunshine can post the info that reaches me in Galway when I cannot get into my email. My love to both of you — and be sure to keep up with the input-output data since nurse Elaine is not there to do it. Would love to hear more details on the surgery as your time allows.

Ah yes, the cacophony of sounds in an ICU…not exactly Brahms. I heard recently that surgeons are becoming more mindful of a woman patient’s desire to hang on to her hair…good for them! Yesterday, the candle I lit was burning in front of a large window with lots of breeze coming in. It barely flickered. I think you could call that steadfast light! Sending you more wishes for healing, light and love!
